Free consultation & $1,500 OFF your full kitchen remodel
Your dream kitchen, delivered on time and on budget. GVD Renovations remodels Sacramento kitchens with an in-house crew, fixed itemized pricing, and a 4 to 10 week schedule. You get premium materials, one accountable project manager, and no surprise change orders, backed by California Contractor License #989637, an A+ BBB rating, and a 4.9 of 5 average across 921+ verified Google and Yelp reviews.
Our designers, carpenters, tile setters, plumbers, electricians, and painters work as one crew on a single timeline. That structure eliminates the subcontractor scheduling gaps that stall most remodels.
We are a CSLB-licensed, family-owned kitchen remodeling contractor serving Sacramento and surrounding communities, recognized by NARI for excellence in kitchen remodeling. Our remodels are designed and built entirely by our in-house team of designers, carpenters, tile setters, plumbers, electricians, and painters. One team, one timeline, one company accountable for the result.
You decide the scope: refresh tired cabinets, open a wall for an open-concept layout, or gut and rebuild. We walk you through cabinetry, stone, tile, lighting, and appliances in our Rocklin showroom, then hand you an itemized proposal with fixed pricing before any work begins, plus a dedicated project manager from demo day through final walkthrough.
A handyman cannot pull permits or coordinate licensed plumbing and electrical work. A licensed contractor can, which is what California code requires for the trade work below.
Most GVD projects complete in 6 to 10 weeks. Every project includes design, permits, and in-house construction with a dedicated project manager.
Step 1: Free in-home consultation. A designer measures your space and learns how you cook, entertain, and live in the kitchen. We discuss scope, realistic budget ranges, and what is possible, with no high-pressure sales.
Step 2: Showroom design session. You visit our Rocklin showroom to compare Cambria quartz, MasterBrand cabinetry, tile, flooring, and Kohler and Moen fixtures. Our designers build one cohesive look so the finished kitchen reads as intentional, not assembled piecemeal.
Step 3: Itemized proposal and 3D renderings. Before you sign, you receive line-item pricing, a project schedule, and 3D renderings. This is where we set outlet placement, cabinet interiors, countertop overhangs, and backsplash transitions. Change details now, not mid-install.
Step 4: Plans, permits, and scheduling. After approval, we pull plans and permits, order materials, and set your start date. Your project manager explains demo day and the job flow, so you have one person to call with any question.
Step 5: Construction. GVD crews handle demolition, framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, cabinetry, stone fabrication, paint, and final fixtures on a schedule your project manager owns. You get regular updates and a site cleaned daily.
Step 6: Final walkthrough and warranty. We inspect every detail with you and fix anything before calling it finished. Your project carries our written workmanship warranty, and most of our business comes from referrals and repeat clients.
GVD kitchen remodels range from about $35,000 for focused updates to $150,000+ for full gut renovations with layout changes and luxury finishes. Pricing largely depends on scope, materials, and whether the project moves walls, plumbing, or electrical. Across Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado County, most remodels fall into three scopes:
| Scope | Typical cost | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh | $20,000 – $35,000 | New or refaced cabinets, new countertops and backsplash, updated lighting; existing layout unchanged |
| Mid-range | $35,000 – $65,000 | New cabinetry, quartz or stone counters, tile, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, minor layout adjustments |
| Full / luxury | $65,000 – $150,000+ | Layout changes, wall removal, custom islands, high-end cabinetry, premium stone, luxury appliance integration |
For a real number, schedule a free in-home consultation and we will build an itemized proposal around your kitchen.
The 30% rule says do not spend more than 30% of your home's value on a kitchen remodel. On a $600,000 Sacramento home, that caps the kitchen near $180,000. The rule protects resale value, because over-improving past neighborhood norms rarely returns the spend.
Our supplier relationships let us offer premium materials at competitive pricing.
MasterBrand lines including Kemper, Diamond, and Schrock, plus fully custom builds. Shaker, flat-panel, inset, slab, painted, and stained options.
Cambria quartz (American-made, lifetime warranty), natural granite, and engineered quartz across price points. Our stone fabricators cut and install to exact spec.
Subway, handmade ceramic, glass mosaic, and full-height stone. Large-format porcelain for minimal grout lines is a frequent request.
Kohler and Moen plumbing fixtures. We coordinate appliances from Bosch and KitchenAid to Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Thermador.
Enjoy gorgeous new cabinets in less time and for less cost than you might think.

Book a ConsultationWarm neutral colors lead: greige, mushroom, and soft taupe on cabinets, often paired with deep green or navy islands. All-white kitchens are fading in favor of two-tone layouts. Other trends we install include matte black and brushed brass hardware, fluted and reeded cabinet fronts, full-height stone backsplashes, and integrated panel-front appliances.
Only as a cosmetic refresh. Five thousand dollars covers cabinet painting, new hardware, a new faucet, and a backsplash on a small kitchen. It does not cover new cabinets, new countertops, or any layout change.
For a small kitchen, $10,000 covers laminate or entry-level quartz counters, a sink and faucet, paint, and lighting while keeping existing cabinets. New custom cabinetry alone usually exceeds that figure.
Cabinetry is the largest single line item, often 25 to 35% of total cost. Countertops and appliances follow.
More than people expect, less than they fear. We contain dust with plastic barriers, keep walkways clear, protect floors, and clean the site daily. You lose kitchen use for most of the project, with a few loud days during demo and install.
Yes. Kitchens and bathrooms most directly drive resale value in the Sacramento market. Per Remodeling's Cost vs. Value report, a minor kitchen remodel recoups roughly 85% of its cost and a major midrange remodel around 40 to 50%, and a well-executed kitchen also shortens time on market.
Most kitchens need a significant update every 15 to 20 years. Cabinet boxes can last longer with new doors, drawers, paint, and hardware if the layout still works. Countertops, lighting, and backsplashes update more frequently as smaller projects.
For most remodels, including gut renovations that keep the footprint, no. Our in-house kitchen and bath specialists handle design, 3D renderings, and material selection. For structural changes like removing a load-bearing wall, we coordinate a licensed engineer for you.
Yes. We pull plans and permits with the City of Sacramento, the County, or your jurisdiction, and permit timelines factor into our schedule. We manage the paperwork, not you.
Yes. We are CSLB-licensed in California under License #989637 and fully insured with workers' compensation and general liability coverage to protect you and your home during the project. We also offer combo, senior, and military discounts, plus financing through third-party lenders with a soft credit check that does not affect your score.
