The homeowners in Sacramento wanted a kitchen and bath that felt brighter and more current without changing the existing footprint, and the finished rooms deliver exactly that. We kept the layout intact and focused the work on fresh surfaces, updated lighting, and a cohesive marble-look palette that ties the spaces together. The result reads clean and warm, with soft gray cabinetry grounding the design.
In the kitchen, we removed the old countertops, sink, and backsplash and replaced them with MSI Calacatta Laza prefab countertops paired with Waypoint 410F Maple in a Slate finish. Over the dining table we hung a homeowner-supplied light, wired into the existing ceiling box, and installed two pendant lights along with a new dimmer switch to give the room flexible, layered lighting. On the bath side, the design carries the same Calacatta theme - Sentrel Calacatta White on the shower walls, Emser 12-by-24 Milestone Moon tile underfoot with matching 3-by-12 bullnose base, all set in Mapei Silver grout for a quiet, consistent line.

A kitchen remodel is a scary undertaking. It's a lot of money. Are you making the right decisions? Will things look right once it all comes together? Will someone be there to help me along the way to make those right decisions? I get it. This group at GVD were AMAZING. Everyone who came into our home was an absolute craftsman. No detail too small. They took the time to consider seams in countertops and make them look flawless. Our backsplash had a tile color we didn't love from the outset and they made sure those tiles were left out and replaced with a color we preferred. We were super picky at every turn and every request was met with a timely response. They even convinced us the microwave we purchased wouldn't live up to our standard so we pivoted last minute based on their recommendations. Couldn't be happier. These guys know what they're doing. Couldn't recommend them more. I often described our old kitchen as "Season 1 of the Sopranos" and they helped us breathe a whole new life into it. 5/5 stars.
