Whole House James Hardie Siding Replacement in Petaluma, CA 94954
James Hardie's Statement Collection fiber cement was the right call for this Petaluma home, where the exterior faced years of Northern California sun, wind, and damp winters. We installed smooth ColorPlus lap boards in Cobble Stone, a warm gray that reads clean against the home's lines. Our crew started by stripping the old siding and trim down to the framing, then inspected the wall cavities for hidden damage before any new material went up.
During tear-off we found and repaired sections of dry rot inside the walls, restoring the structure before re-cladding. From there we wrapped the home in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed every window and door opening with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and added metal z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. New 5/4-by-4 ColorPlus trim in Arctic White frames the windows, doors, and corners, with 5/4-by-6 trim detailing the garage doors. We also swapped in one Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl sliding glass door with the Infinit-e triple-layer Low-E and argon glass package for better year-round efficiency.
To finish, we painted the eaves, fascia, foundation, and garage door, and color-matched the adjacent siding so the whole exterior reads as one. Downspouts and house numbers were reinstalled, and all demolition debris was hauled away.
