James Hardie Siding Replacement in Pleasanton, CA 94566
Set in a Pleasanton neighborhood off the 94566, this home traded its old vertical James Hardie panels for a fresh run of horizontal lap siding that gives the whole exterior a cleaner, more current line. We re-sided the entire house, wrapped the trim around every window, door, and corner, and finished it off with a full repaint so the foundation, eaves, gutters, and downspouts all read as one cohesive package. A new double front door rounds out the front elevation.
Our crew started by removing every existing trim board and the old vertical Hardie siding down to the substrate, resheeting any compromised areas with 7/16-inch OSB to give the new siding a sound nailing base. Before a single board went up, we installed HardieWrap weather barrier across the walls, sealed all window and door openings with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and ran metal Z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. The replacement siding is James Hardie ColorPlus lap from the Statement Collection, framed by 5/4x4 trim at the openings and corners and 5/4x6 trim around the single and double garage doors. Because the back deck ran parallel to the wall, we removed and reinstalled that decking so the siding could be properly tucked behind it.
With the siding set, we reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers, painted the entire house so nothing clashed with the new boards, and cleared every bit of demo debris from the site.

GVD was reasonably priced and the project turned out great. The crew was especially good, very professional and just seemed to care how everything looked. They had explained in advance how in a few areas the flashing was going to be exposed and that was fine but the crew spent time finding a solution where everything was hidden and looked way better without any prompting. There were no surprises or extra bills and we are happy with the results.
