James Hardie Siding, Windows & Soffit in Petaluma, CA 94952

Careful work on the high walls and tight corners set the tone for this Petaluma exterior, where our crew took down every layer of old siding and started fresh. Because the inspector couldn't confirm whether solid shear sheathing existed behind the original sidewall, we re-sheathed the home in new exterior-grade OSB to lock in the shear strength before any new product went up. The finished result is a crisp Evening Blue body wrapped in clean Arctic White trim, with new windows that brighten the whole house.

Over the new sheathing we installed HardieWrap weather barrier, then sealed every window and door opening with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing and metal z-flashing to keep moisture out for the long haul. The walls are clad in James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Evening Blue, framed by 5/4-by-4 ColorPlus trim around the openings and corners and 5/4-by-6 trim at the single garage door, all in Arctic White. We finished the eaves with James Hardie Cedar Mill soffit and power washed and painted the existing eaves to match. To round out the project, we replaced 14 windows and one slider with Milgard Tuscany Series retrofit vinyl windows carrying Low-E 366 glass and argon gas for year-round energy savings.
