James Hardie Siding Remodel & Anlin Catalina Windows in San Bruno, CA 94066
Set in a San Bruno neighborhood where the coastal air is hard on exteriors, this home now wears a clean coat of Boothbay Blue lap siding framed in crisp Arctic White trim. We stripped the house back to the studs, replacing a patchwork of stucco, vinyl, and wood siding with a single James Hardie fiber cement system. The new blue-and-white palette reads bright and modern against the street, with sharp trim lines around every window, door, and corner.
The bulk of the home's original stucco came off down to the framing, and where the newer addition carried T1-11 under vinyl, we worked with that existing substrate. With the walls open, our crew inspected the structural members for dry rot, made the necessary repairs, and re-sheathed the stucco areas with half-inch plywood for shear strength - passing the city's shear-wall nailing inspection before any siding went up. We then wrapped the home in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed every window and door opening with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and ran metal z-flashing for long-term moisture protection.
For the siding itself we installed James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Boothbay Blue, trimmed out openings, corners, and the garage door with 5/4 Hardie trim in Arctic White. Four windows were swapped for Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl units with the Infinit-e three-layer Low-E glass package for better year-round efficiency. To finish, we painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation, then reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers.
