James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding in Cobble Stone gives this Napa home a fiber-cement exterior built for the long haul, and it's the centerpiece of the work we did here. The house started out wrapped in aging wood, vinyl, and FRC siding that had run its course, so our crew stripped every wall down past the skip sheathing, opened up the building cavities for inspection, and addressed the dry rot we found inside the framing before anything new went on. We also removed an unused chimney, then patched the roof deck back to a clean, finished surface. What stands now is a tighter, lower-maintenance exterior in a warm gray tone, trimmed crisp in Arctic White.

Once the walls were sound, we installed a complete James Hardie moisture-management system: HardieWrap weather barrier across the sheathing, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at every window and door, and metal Z-flashing to shed water at the horizontal joints.
