James Hardie Plank Lap Siding Installation in Foster City, CA 94404
The exterior of this Foster City home now reads clean and consistent from every angle, with crisp white trim framing soft gray walls and a tighter siding exposure that gives the whole house a more refined, finished look. We stripped the home down to the sheathing and rebuilt the wall system from the weather barrier out, so what you see is backed by proper moisture protection underneath. The homeowner wanted the new siding to have a narrower reveal, and that smaller exposure is exactly what we set.
Our crew tore off all the existing siding and trim, hauled it away, and inspected the wall framing for dry rot, replacing any damaged framing members and sheathing with exterior-grade OSB before re-cladding. We wrapped the walls in HardieWrap weather barrier, ran Forti-Flash rubberized flashing around every window and door, and added metal z-flashing for long-term moisture control. James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection went on in Pearl Gray, finished with 5/4-by-4 HardieTrim in Arctic White around the openings and corners and wider trim at the double garage door. We also folded in a louver vent at the front garage gable, repainted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation, swapped in two Anlin Catalina Series windows at the rear, and removed an old tin shed from the property.
