Guest Bath Remodel in El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
Cloe subway tile carried all the way to the ceiling sets the tone for this guest bath in El Dorado Hills, giving the space a clean, full-height backdrop that suits the home's bright, updated feel. We gutted the original bathroom down to the studs, reworked the wet area, and rebuilt it as a tiled walk-in shower with a frameless pivot glass door. Where the old layout felt dated and closed in, the finished room reads tall, crisp, and easy to keep clean.
For the shower, our crew installed the HYDRO-BLOK waterproofing system on the walls and low-profile pan before tiling, which gives the wet area a fully sealed substrate rather than relying on backer board alone. We tiled the surround and ran the Cloe subway wall to the ceiling, then set the floor and built in a recessed niche for shampoo and soap. Epoxy grout was used for its stain resistance and durability in a daily-use bath. A Waypoint semi-custom vanity with the 400 Series door style anchors the sink wall, topped with a custom quartz countertop and a homeowner-provided sink and faucet.
On the mechanical side, we relocated plumbing in the raised foundation to suit the new layout, added a diverter valve to feed a second shower head, and set a new floor-mount toilet, exhaust fan, and bathroom accessories. Drywall was patched, taped, and textured where the demolition and electrical work opened up the walls, and an outlet was relocated to fit the finished vanity.

We had a very large home remodel recently completed by GVD - Kitchen, Master Bath, and 2 guest baths. The sales and design process was excellent - great communication and they worked with us to choose the right layouts and materials. The construction process was long, but worth it and given the scope of the job completed in a very reasonable amount of time. The tile/marble work in particular is spectacular - the attention to detail and quality of workmanship has made for 4 beautiful rooms. The master bath in particular was a huge change and the kitchen is a dream, clean lines and very functional. They clearly communicated any changes to costs based on our asks so there were no surprises. all of the subcontractors made sure to confirm design details before proceeding and at times made recommendations that were better than our original plans. The GVD team handled course corrections and changes real time. We are very satisfied with the work and love our new home.
