Whole House James Hardie Siding Replacement in Davis, CA 95616

Up close, the exterior of this Davis home now reads clean and crisp, with deep blue lap siding running across every elevation and bright trim framing each window, door, and corner. We stripped the home back to the studs' sheathing and rebuilt the whole envelope, so what was once aging T1-11 is now a durable fiber-cement system designed to handle the local climate. The arched detailing at the front windows and the entry alcoves was carried through carefully, with trim segmented to follow the curves. Day to day, it's a low-maintenance exterior that holds its color and sheds weather the way it should.

Our crew tore off all the existing siding and trim, hauled away the debris, and removed the old shade structure in the rear before opening the walls for inspection. Where we found dry rot in the framing, we repaired and replaced the damaged members, then re-sheathed the walls in 7/16-inch exterior-grade OSB for shear strength and passed the city's nailing inspection. Over that went HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at the window and door openings, and metal Z-flashing to keep moisture out for the long haul. We then installed James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Boothbay Blue, with batten board added for full-house coverage.

Window, door, and corner openings were wrapped in 5/4x4 ColorPlus trim in Navajo Beige with a rustic texture, the double garage doors trimmed out in 5/4x6 to match. To finish the job, we painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation around the full perimeter so every surface tied together.
