Kitchen Remodel in Greenwood, CA 95635
Careful demolition came first on this Greenwood kitchen: our crew detached the old cabinets, tile counters, and backsplash, broke them down, and hauled them off before opening up the room. We took down a load-bearing wall and built it back so the ceiling line stayed clean, raised the soffits, and patched the sheetrock to match the surrounding texture. Old recessed and standard light boxes were framed in and finished, and we capped abandoned pipes hidden in the soffit so nothing was left dangling behind the new finishes. The result is a squared-off, light-filled space that finally works the way the homeowners wanted it to.
The cabinetry is Waypoint semi-custom in the 470F door style painted Stone, with plumbing cutouts fabricated on site for a tight fit. We topped the runs with MSI Glacier White Quartz cut to a mitered edge, then ran an MSI Lennon granite backsplash trimmed in Schluter Greige TSBG and grouted with Mapei Warm Grey #93. A homeowner-provided farm sink, faucet, and disposal tie into the existing drainage, and the island got its own electrical line feeding four outlets to support how the family actually uses the space.
On the mechanical side, we relocated the gas line, ran a new water line for a spigot, added a dedicated circuit, and built out exhaust ductwork for the downdraft - including a pony-wall chase and cabinet modifications wrapped with a finished skin. New LED recessed cans and pendant lighting replaced the old single fixture, a fan-rated box went into the adjoining living room, and Mohawk Wander's Loop flooring in Gothic Arch ties the whole kitchen together.
