James Hardie Siding Remodel in Concord, CA 94520

Arctic White James Hardie siding sets the tone for this Concord home, where we used two profiles to give the front a different character than the rest of the house. The front facet wears Hardie Batten Board for a clean vertical line, while the side and back facets are wrapped in Hardie lap siding from the Statement Collection. Behind the cosmetic update, the project installed durable new siding down to the studs on the walls we re-sided, complementing the existing T1-11 section. The result is a crisp, contemporary exterior with a consistent Arctic White finish across the siding and trim.

After setting up safety equipment to reach the high walls, our crew tore off the old siding and trim, then inspected the wall cavities for dry rot and repaired the structural members we found compromised. We re-sheathed the exposed walls with 7/16-inch exterior-grade OSB for shear-wall strength and passed the city's nailing inspection before any siding went up. From there we installed HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at the window and door openings, and metal Z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. New 5/4-by-4 ColorPlus trim went on the openings and corners, a 5/4-by-6 trim wraps the single garage door, and Hardie fascia up to 11.25 inches finishes the rooflines.

While the walls were open, we swapped four windows for Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl units - including the living room and a bedroom - finished black on the outside and white inside. Each carries Anlin's Low-E 366 glass with argon gas for better year-round efficiency. We painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation, then reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers and hauled away all debris.
