James Hardie Installation in Napa, CA 94559
Working high on a two-story wall takes patience and the right safety setup, and that's where this Napa project started. Our crew built out the scaffolding and access needed to reach the two-story wall and the front gable above the new garage conversion, then carefully stripped off the old siding and trim down to the framing. With everything exposed, we inspected the wall cavities for hidden decay and repaired the dry rot we found before any new material went up - the kind of step that protects the work for the long haul.
We reframed the door at the two-story area and enlarged a window opening, then set the new windows into the reworked openings. Before siding went back on, we wrapped the walls in HardieWrap weather barrier and detailed every window and door with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing to keep moisture out at the most vulnerable points. James Hardie primed 6-inch lap siding went on next, trimmed out with Hardie ColorPlus 5/4-by-4 trim around the openings and corners. To finish, we sealed and painted the new siding along with the entire main structure per manufacturer specifications, in the homeowner's chosen color.
