This Mill Valley home now reads as one clean, consistent run of lap siding, with the dormer matching the same crisp line. We stripped the old cladding and rebuilt the walls with new James Hardie siding. The result is a sharp, weather-ready face on the home, finished in Pearl Gray with bright white trim framing the details.

After demo, our crew prepped and weatherproofed the walls over the existing house wrap before hanging James Hardie HZ-zone lap siding across the field and the dormer. The corners were finished in the Pearl Gray siding color to keep the field uninterrupted, while every post was wrapped in James Hardie trim in matte white, installed with as few nail penetrations as possible for a clean look. We trimmed the garage door with 6-inch sides and an 8-inch header, and ran a small belly-band detail by the garage, set to the level of the chimney base. On the new-construction areas where plywood was exposed, we added primed soffit to close everything off.
