James Hardie Siding in Dublin, CA 94568
The street-facing walls of this Dublin home now wear a crisp two-tone James Hardie finish, with deep Night Gray board-and-batten set off by clean Arctic White trim around every window, door, and corner. We carried the new siding from the back right corner across the front face to the front left corner, layering it over the home's original T1-11 for a tighter, more durable exterior. Up close, the vertical battens give the front elevation a sharper, more architectural rhythm than the flat plywood it replaced.
Our crew started by setting up safety staging to reach the high walls and harder-to-access sections, then opened up the exterior to inspect the wall framing. Where we found dry rot in the structural members, we cut out and replaced the damaged areas before closing anything back up - work that doesn't show in the finished photos but keeps the new system sound. From there we wrapped the walls in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed the window and door openings with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and added metal z-flashing at the transitions for permanent moisture protection. The Batten Board siding came from James Hardie's Statement Collection in Night Gray, finished with ColorPlus 5/4x4 trim on openings and corners and 5/4x6 trim around the single and double garage doors.
To tie the colors together, we painted the eaves, fascia, garage doors, and foundation along the run of new siding, from the back right corner through the front and around to the front left.
