James Hardie Siding & Simonton Windows in Petaluma, CA 94954
The owners of this Petaluma home wanted a fresh, durable exterior and windows that would cut down on energy loss without the upkeep of their old materials. We stripped the house down to the studs on the exterior, replaced the worn siding and aging windows, and gave the whole house a clean, modern look in soft gray with crisp white trim. The finished result holds up to the local climate while keeping a tidy, classic profile.
We installed James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Pearl Gray, trimmed out openings, corners, and the double garage doors with 5/4-inch Hardie trim in Arctic White. Before the new siding went up, our crew inspected the wall framing for dry rot, made structural repairs where needed, and replaced damaged sheathing with exterior-grade OSB. We then wrapped the walls in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed every window and door opening with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and added metal z-flashing for long-term moisture protection. Twenty-two Simonton Day Light Max Series vinyl windows went in with Low-E 366 glass and argon-gas fill for better insulation in both summer and winter.
To finish the job, we painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation around the full perimeter so every surface tied together with the new siding and trim.
