James Hardie Siding & Milgard Windows in Foster City, CA 94404
The exterior of this Foster City home went from tired, weathered cladding to a clean, layered look in Monterey Taupe with crisp white trim. We stripped the home down to the studs on the siding side, working through the high walls and hard-to-reach sections that come with a two-story facade. With fresh siding, new windows, and updated trim wrapping every opening, the house reads sharper and far more finished from the curb.
We installed James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection - CedarMill 8.25-inch boards in Monterey Taupe - across roughly 35 squares of wall. Once the old siding came off, our crew inspected the wall framing for dry rot, made repairs where needed, and re-sheathed the exterior with new 1/2-inch plywood for shear strength, which passed the city's nailing inspection. Over that we ran HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at the window and door openings, and metal z-flashing to keep moisture out for the long haul.
The trim package is 5/4x4 and 5/4x6 ColorPlus boards in Arctic White rustic grain around the windows, doors, garage, and corners. Alongside the siding, we replaced 18 windows and 3 patio doors with Milgard Tuscany Series vinyl units carrying Low-E 366 glass for year-round energy efficiency. To finish, we painted the fascias, eaves, foundations, and gutters to match, added a new roof intake gable vent, and reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers.
