Up close, this Vallejo two-story now reads crisp and current, with clean Evening Blue lap siding running the full height of the walls and Arctic White trim framing every window, door, and corner. The old, worn siding is gone, and in its place is a tight, weather-tight James Hardie system that holds up to the local climate. Two small shake-design accent panels above the second-floor front windows break up the lap lines and give the facade a little extra detail where the eye lands first.
Our crew tore off the existing siding and trims down to the framing, hauled away the debris, and inspected the wall cavities for hidden damage. Where dry rot turned up inside the walls, we repaired and replaced the affected structure before anything new went on. From there we wrapped the home in HardieWrap weather barrier, sealed every window and door opening with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and ran metal z-flashing across the transitions for long-term moisture protection. The James Hardie ColorPlus Statement Collection lap siding went on next in Evening Blue, finished with 5/4-inch ColorPlus trim in Arctic White around all openings, corners, and the double garage doors.
On the window side, we swapped out eighteen units and one sliding glass door for Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl windows, built with the Low-E 366 glass package and argon gas fill for better year-round efficiency. We painted the eaves, fascia, foundation, garage door, and side access door to tie the whole exterior together, then reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers once the siding was set.
