James Hardie Siding & Anlin Windows in Galt, CA 95632
From the street, this Galt home now reads crisp and current, with Pearl Gray lap siding running clean across every wall and bright Arctic White trim framing each window, door, and corner. The old siding had reached the end of its life, so we stripped the exterior down to the studs and rebuilt the whole envelope. New white-frame windows brighten the rooms inside, and the exterior holds its color and sheds water far better than what was there before.
Our crew tore off the existing wood, vinyl, and FRC siding along with the skip sheathing, then re-sheathed the walls in 7/16-inch exterior-grade OSB for shear strength and passed the city's nailing inspection before any siding went up. Over that we installed HardieWrap weather barrier, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at every window and door opening, and metal z-flashing to keep moisture out for the long haul. The walls were finished in James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Pearl Gray, trimmed with 5/4-by-4 smooth Hardie trim in Arctic White at openings and corners, and we wrapped the exposed gable fascia in PVC-coated aluminum coil stock.
On the window side, we removed every old unit and replaced them with Anlin Catalina dual-pane windows, all carrying triple-coat LoE3 high-efficiency glass with white frames inside and out. The set included a large XO slider, six single-hung windows, four picture windows, a tempered slider, and several additional XO sliders sized to the existing openings.
