James Hardie Board & Batten Siding & Anlin Windows in Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

The homeowners here wanted a cleaner, more durable exterior to replace the aging siding wrapping their Rancho Cordova home, and the finished result delivers exactly that. We stripped the property down to the studs on the exterior walls, rebuilt the wall system, and clad it in James Hardie board and batten in crisp Arctic White. The vertical batten lines give the house a sharper, more architectural look than the siding it replaced, and the whole envelope is better protected against weather and fire.

Our crew tore off the old siding and trim down to the framing, then inspected the structural members for dry rot and made repairs where decay was found. From there we sheathed the walls in new half-inch plywood for shear strength and passed the city's nailing inspection before any new siding went on. A complete moisture system followed: HardieWrap weather barrier across the walls, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at every window and door opening, and metal z-flashing where needed. The James Hardie Statement Collection board and batten was installed over the top, trimmed out with 5/4-by-6 ColorPlus trim at the garage doors and 5/4-by-4 ColorPlus trim around the windows, doors, and corners.

We also handled a window change in the master bedroom, swapping in a new-construction Anlin Catalina XO slider with Thermacoat in black. The homeowners asked us to extend the opening, so we modified the existing window framing to add 19 inches of height to the lower section, then patched and textured the drywall to match inside.
