CraneBoard Vinyl Siding, Deck & Anlin Windows in Rio Vista, CA 94571

The owners of this 1927 Rio Vista home wanted to bring a nearly century-old house up to modern standards without losing its character - and that meant a tougher, better-insulated exterior plus decks they could actually use. We re-clad the house in CraneBoard Solid Core insulated vinyl siding, swapped in energy-efficient windows and a new front door, and rebuilt both decks from the framing up. The result is a tighter, lower-maintenance exterior with warm Redwood decks front and side.

For the siding we installed CraneBoard Solid Core in Slate with crisp white corner posts and standard white S-channel running around every opening. The two front windows, the entry door, and the garage were finished with 1x4 coil wrap for a clean, framed look up front. We set 14 Anlin Monte Verde series windows with white frames, argon-filled double-pane Low-E glass to cut heat gain and drafts in an older house, and hung a new front door paired with a security screen door.

Both the front and side decks were rebuilt in Redwood over pressure-treated framing, with new steps off the side and Redwood railings to match. We sealed the decking and rails with a clear protective stain to let the grain show, and repaired the front porch fascia board while we were at it.
