Quadplex James Hardie Siding Remodel in Santa Rosa, CA 95401
Working on the tall, hard-to-reach walls of this Santa Rosa quadplex called for careful setup before a single board came off. Our crew rigged the proper safety equipment to reach the high elevations, then methodically stripped the old siding and trim down to the framing. With the walls open, we inspected the structural members, addressed the dry rot we found, and rebuilt those sections before any new material went up. The result is a tight, weather-ready James Hardie envelope installed with attention to every nailing line and trim joint.
Behind the new siding, we packed the stud bays with Owens Corning R-13 fiberglass insulation and sheathed the walls in half-inch exterior-rated plywood for shear strength, passing the city's shear-wall nailing inspection before cladding. The exterior is finished in James Hardie primed lap siding, with 5/4x4 Hardie trim wrapping the windows, doors, and corners. Once the siding was up, our painters prepped, caulked, and sealed per manufacturer specs, then painted the new siding, trim, eaves, fascia, and foundation in an HOA-approved color so the new cladding blended cleanly with the rest of the building.
