Prodigy Solid Core Siding in Mill Valley, CA 94941

On a hillside street in Mill Valley, the back wall of this home now wears a clean, low-maintenance Prodigy insulated vinyl profile by Alside. Our crew stripped the old siding down to the studs on that elevation, rebuilt the wall assembly from the inside out, and finished it with crisp new trim around every opening. The result is a back face that looks sharp and stands up to the area's damp, tree-shaded conditions far better than what was there before.

After tearing off the existing siding and skip sheathing, we inspected the framing for dry rot and made the structural repairs needed before closing the wall back up. From there we packed the stud bays with Owens Corning R-13 fiberglass insulation, sheathed the wall in new half-inch plywood for shear strength, and passed the city's nailing inspection. A Tyvek weather barrier with taped seams went on next as the moisture-protection layer, followed by Prodigy Next Generation insulated vinyl siding installed by certified craftsmen. We wrapped the openings and corners in LP SmartSide 5/4-by-4 cedar-texture trim, added matching vinyl J-channel, and painted the new trim, eaves, fascia, and foundation along the run.
