James Hardie Siding Installation in Meadow Vista, CA 95722
Iron Gray HardiePlank lap siding gave this Meadow Vista home a cleaner, more durable exterior built to handle the foothill climate. We pulled off the old wood siding across the walls where it had been installed and reworked the layout so the cedar shake areas stay as-is. Where the ends of the building had vertically lapped siding, our crew tore it off completely; the remaining walls were re-sheathed before the new system went on. The result is a tighter, more consistent envelope finished in James Hardie's ColorPlus factory finish.
Because parts of the house called for added strength, we installed new 7/16-inch exterior-grade OSB sheathing and passed the shear-wall nailing inspection before moving forward. On top of that went HardieWrap weather barrier, with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing wrapped into every window and door opening and metal z-flashing set where needed to keep water moving off the walls. The siding itself is from the James Hardie Statement Collection in Iron Gray, paired with 5/4x4 ColorPlus trim around the openings and corners. The high and hard-to-reach walls were handled with full safety staging so the install stayed clean from top to bottom.
