James Hardie Lap Siding Replacement in Castro Valley, CA 94546

The exterior of this Castro Valley home went from worn, aging siding to a clean, crisp wrap of James Hardie lap boards in Light Mist. The soft gray-green tone reads bright against the Arctic White trim, and the whole house looks sharper and more defined from the street. Our crew handled the full siding swap on the main structure, including the high walls and tight access points that older homes like this one tend to have.

We installed James Hardie ColorPlus lap siding from the Statement Collection in Light Mist, finished with 5/4-by-4 ColorPlus trim in Arctic White around the windows, doors, and corners. Behind the boards we built a complete moisture-protection system: HardieWrap weather barrier across the walls, Forti-Flash rubberized flashing at every window and door opening, and metal z-flashing where the siding called for it. During teardown we inspected the wall framing for dry rot and repaired the damaged framing we found before closing the walls back up. To tie the look together, we painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation around the perimeter of the house.
