James Hardie Lap Siding & Anlin Windows in Pacifica, CA 94044
The owners of this Pacifica home wanted siding and windows that could stand up to the coastal climate while giving the exterior a fresh, unified look. We stripped the house down to the studs on the outside - removing all the old siding and trim - and rebuilt the entire envelope with a James Hardie ColorPlus lap-siding system and a full set of new Anlin windows. The finished result is a tighter, better-protected home wrapped in Khaki Brown siding with crisp Cobble Stone trim outlining every opening.
Once the existing siding came off, our crew inspected the wall framing for dry rot and made structural repairs where decay had set in before any new material went up. We installed HardieWrap weather barrier across the walls, sealed the window and door openings with Forti-Flash rubberized flashing, and added metal z-flashing for layered moisture protection. The James Hardie Statement Collection lap siding went on next, trimmed out in 5/4-by-4 around the windows and doors and 5/4-by-6 at the corners and garage openings. We swapped in twelve Anlin Catalina new-construction vinyl windows and one sliding glass door, all carrying the Infinit-e three-layer Low-E glass package for year-round energy efficiency.
To pull everything together, we painted the eaves, fascia, garage door, and foundation, then reinstalled the downspouts and house numbers that had been removed for the siding work.
