James Hardie & Alside Windows in Oakland, CA 94605

The exterior of this home now reads clean and crisp, wrapped end to end in white James Hardie lap siding with bright trim framing every corner and window. Our crew installed the new cladding, built out the wall assembly, and set the whole envelope. A new porch soffit by the entry and a fresh front door tighten up the approach, and the new white-framed windows give the Oakland house a uniform, modern face.

We installed James Hardie fiber-cement lap siding in the 8 1/4-inch profile with a 7-inch exposure, finished in Arctic White and paired with matching Arctic White 5/4 trim and 4x4 corner trim. Our team sheathed the walls with LP FireBlock plywood and DensGlass, then applied James Hardie weather barrier with full flashing for moisture protection and shear strength behind the new cladding. Insulation was filled in along the way, and joints were caulked where needed before the finish went on.

The window package is Alside throughout, with white frames inside and out. We used retrofit installs where the existing openings were stucco and new-construction units where the siding had been removed, added a French sliding door, and closed out one old sliding door and a garden window for a cleaner wall line. No stucco work was part of this project.
